Taking On Plastic Pollution

More than a decade ago, Molly and Allison were at Stanford completing PhD’s when they had an idea. Could methane be used to create biodegradables? A great deal of research convinced them it could.

After Stanford, Molly and Allison teamed up with Anne, a microbiologist, to launch Mango in 2010. They shared a vision for a world where plastic could be created and disposed of without harm.

For more than a decade since, Molly, Allison and Anne have dedicated their careers to prove the efficacy and advantages of their solution.

Today Mango is a leader in biodegradable plastics working with partners, including NASA, Patagonia and Reaction to see their vision become a reality.

Why Mango Materials?

The global plastics market is massive and growing. So are the many environmental, health and mortality problems caused by plastic waste.

Responsible companies are searching for options to make products using biodegradable plastics. Demand is high as a result. Far exceeding supply.

Mango’s patented closed-loop approach is proven, can scale cost-effectively and provides customers with a unique, carbon negative advantage due to use of methane, which is 20X as harmful as CO2.

What’s next? Mango will work with its customers and partners to produce and sell products globally, allowing it to capture demand while improving millions of lives in the process.
