Nitrogen is the most abundant element in the atmosphere, but it must undergo chemical processes to be used as fertilizer. This is where lightning enters the equation. During a thunderstorm, lightning naturally breaks apart atmospheric nitrogen, and rainwater brings it to the soil as plant- soluble nitrates. Nitricity’s breakthrough technology emulates this natural process to fix nitrogen.

A Stanford-founded venture, Nitricity has successfully de-risked its one-of-a-kind technology and is working towards engineering scale up. Their modular approach sets the company apart from industry standards.
